How to Use Custom Sets

How to Use Custom Sets

Custom Sets allow you to create reusable lists of items that can be easily added to single/multiple choice and dropdowns within inspection templates. This saves time when building templates that share common items or sections. Here's how to use Custom Sets:

Viewing Custom Sets

- Navigate to the Custom Sets section under "Tools" from the top right side of the main menu

- The Custom Sets page lists all existing sets, which teams have access to each set, who last updated each one, and the number of items in the set.

Creating a New Custom Set

  1. From the Custom Sets page, click the "+ New Custom Set" button in the middle.
  2. Enter a name for your new set
  3. Select which team(s) the set should be available to, or choose "All" to make it available to all teams
  4. Enter the item details in the fields provided
  5. Click the add item button to save the item to the set
  6. Repeat for each item you want to include in the Custom Set
  7. Click "Create" to save the new empty Custom Set

Adding Items to a Custom Set

  1. Open a Custom Set from the list on the Custom Sets page
  2. Click "+ Add Item"
  3. Enter the item details in the fields provided
  4. Click the add item button to save the item to the set
  5. Repeat for each item you want to include in the Custom Set

Using Custom Sets in Inspection Templates

  1. - When creating or editing an Inspection template, the Custom Sets option will appear in the template builder when either single, multiple choice or drop-down's are selected

  2. - Click "Custom Sets" and select the set you want to add from the dropdown menu
  3. - The items from the selected Custom Set will be inserted into your template
  4. - You can still customize the imported items or add additional ones specific to that template

Managing Custom Sets

  1. From the Custom Sets list, click on a set to view and edit its details and items
  2. You can change the set name, associated teams, and add/remove/modify items as needed

By leveraging Custom Sets, you can quickly build out new inspection templates, ensure consistency in common areas across multiple inspection types, and save time. The feature is flexible to adapt as your item lists evolve over time. Custom Sets are a powerful tool for streamlining your inspection template creation process in Visualogyx.
